Baby-sitting
Baby-sitting is available for the children of Mothers and Others so that members can relax and enjoy the meetings. Mothers and Others adhere to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton's Safe Environment Program; Safe Environment Program requires all sitters to have their backgrounds checked before working in our rooms and attend an annual 40-minute seminar on safety. Two cleared adults must be in the room at all times.
Mothers are welcome to bring their infants to the meetings if they are between the ages of 0 and 6 months. However, with discretion, we ask that children over 6 months of age be placed in the appropriate babysitting rooms so all of our members can enjoy the meetings without disruption. If you have a concern or question regarding your child’s age, please feel free to contact Joanna Childers for special considerations.
Babysitters are not responsible for administering medication to the children. Any other special instructions can be left with the babysitters in the child's room.
All children are required to have their own necessities (diapers, bottles, change of clothes, etc.) in a bag with their name on it. PLEASE LABEL ALL contents clearly. Infants are requested to bring their own blankets, if desired. All children, except infants, will be provided with a snack. Parents are requested to provide a drink for their child. Please make sure it is labeled.
The pre-payment fees are $6.00 for the first child, $4.00 for the second child, and $3.00 for each additional child, for babysitting at each meeting. Members are encouraged to prepay. Prepayment provides automatic reservations and, if prepaid by the September meeting, then the month of September is free. If you pay monthly by the Friday before the meeting, the rate is a flat $6, and $10 if you pay at the door. First time visitors are given the pre-payment rate ($6, $4, and $3) and allowed to pay at the door. Children may be dropped off for babysitting after 9:15 a.m. and must be picked up no later than 12:00 p.m. Babysitting fees are non-refundable.
Our babysitters use time-outs as a method of helping to deal with disruptive behavior. Please see Michelle Solis for further information if needed.
