About Us
Mothers and Others promotes social, service and religious opportunities to Christian mothers, their families and other community members. We provide support to each other and the community through monthly meetings with educational speakers, service opportunities and social outings. Our membership totals around 60+ women (although men are welcome!) from Plano, Allen, McKinney, Frisco and surrounding areas. While we meet at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, you do not have to be a member of the church nor Catholic.
OUR LONG TERM GOALS
To meet the needs of our members in times of difficulty or hardship.
To provide social, service and religious opportunities for our members.
To provide interesting and educational speakers to better ourselves as mothers, wives and members of our community.
To give of oneself in time and talents to those of our community in need.
ACHIEVING OUR GOALS
Hospitality Committee - Meals for Mom, Newcomer Events, Fall Family Fun Nights, Playgroups, Breakfast with Santa & Easter Bunny, Social Activities (Bunko, Spring Luncheon, Vendor Show (December), Mom's Night Out, Mom and Tot Outings)
Babysitting Program - Babysitting for general meetings and Kids Play Day
Interested in volunteering to baby-sit at Kids Play Day, act as a floater during our meetings or during one of our 4 fundraising Parents Night Out? You first need to be cleared through the Safe Environment Training. It's easy to do and a must have to work with the children in our program! Recertification is required annually but can be done easily via the web or by watching a quick video. Don't delay - certify today!
Community Outreach - we engage in numerous service opportunities through donations and volunteering time to assist great organizations like City House, My Friend's House, Plano Clothes Closet, St. Elizabeth and more. We also do a variety of fundraisers to support these organizations such as a quarterly Parents Night Out program, annual Silent Auction and monthly raffles.
Our group is a non-profit organization and as such we strive to keep our fees and activities as cheap as possible. To do that we ask our members to volunteer in a variety of ways. We need members to provide snacks at our monthly meetings, help "man" our tables at fundraising events and membership drives, provide time and/or collections for our supported charities, provide meals for new moms or moms in need, and to baby-sit during our Parents Night Out fundraisers. In addition to these great ways to be involved, we also hope some members will be interested in assisting our committees with organizing special events and the subsequent clean-up activities.
The more you do with us, the more you will get to know us, and you will find the value of your membership skyrockets through the friendships and support you will create and give!
We are Moms supporting Moms in any number of ways. Whether it is through community service and support, affordable child care once a month, or a place for home businesses to advertise - we are here to help!!
